Classwork

Here are two drawings from class last week.

1. In this first one, the model was sitting on a stool on top of a table. My professor said I was spending too much time focusing on the model and should be measuring the table more accurately, but lately I've been having more fun just observing and drawing rather than getting stuck on measuring. I like the line quality I've been starting to use.

2. In this one, there were two models: one standing (male) and one sitting (female). I concentrated more on the male model. During this class we started doing what is called "lighting drawings" (done with the orange chalk). They are simply quick gesture drawings starting off with a "round-about" in the hips and quickly showing the angles in the weight-bearing leg. The only thing I measured was the width in relationship to the height. You can see how much the male model shifted in my drawing (which is something that my professors look for).
